Modernization of chemical pumps with BSB

To order

MODERNIZATION OF CHEMICAL PUMPS KHB 160/210

Prior to pump upgrading, seats and slot seals are restored, and worn impellers are replaced.
The upgrading involves the following:
1. The replacement of existing rolling bearing packages with bearing-seal packages based on sliding bearings. The sliding bearings' friction surfaces are made of silicon carbide.
2. The sealing gland is replaced with modern, specially designed face seals.
3. The rejection from the dummy balance piston. Relief is accomplished through the use of a specially sized face seal, which eliminates parasitic consumption of the pumped fluid through the slot of the dummy balance piston, saving up to 3% of the electricity consumed.

The upgrading resulted in the following:
With the same shaft diameter, the inter-support distance has been reduced by nearly 500 mm.
The shaft's stiffness has increased by more than double.
The pump's vibration characteristics have improved.
The pump unit's frame was left untouched, but a space for installing a modern plate coupling was added.

MODERNIZATION OF CHEMICAL H, AH - TYPES PUMPS

As only the housing, the pump cover, and the impeller remain from the original pump, almost every foreign or domestic chemical cantilever pump can be upgraded with BSB. At the same time, removing the housing from the frame and disconnecting it from the process pipelines is not required.
The bearing unit is sealed on both sides with two single seals, and the bearings are placed between the seals in the formed chamber, which is filled with a barrier fluid. This scheme ensures the safe operation of sliding bearings in a clean fluid.
