Vertical condensate pump modernization

The upgrade consists of replacing the existing supporting and sealing system with a BSB.
The condensate pump bearing seal block includes thrust (1) and journal (2) sliding bearings, as well as a single face seal (3), all housed in a single housing. The shaft is sealed by the face seal, preventing leaks of supplied condensate and air from entering the pump cavity. As friction pairs in sliding bearings, wear-resistant antifriction materials are used.
Condensate is constantly supplied to the BSB cavity from third-party sources at a pressure greater than the pressure upstream of the BSB, ensuring that the pump stall does not affect the package performance.

The shaft support distance has increased as a result of the upgrade, while the cantilever has decreased. The pump shaft gained higher stiffness, which reduced wear on the slot and face seals and improved vibration characteristics. The oil lubrication system for bearings is excluded.
BSB allows you to solve operational issues with condensate pumps and extend their mean time before failure to five years or more.

The first stage of upgrading is a restoration of the flow part, which involves replacing worn parts that cannot be restored or repairing pump parts. The gaps of the slot seals are normalized. The diameters of the orifices and the seating surfaces of the housings have been restored.
The second stage of upgrading involves replacing the standard power unit with a more powerful BSB power unit, which includes sliding bearings and a face seal. The BSB's operating surfaces are lubricated and cooled by flushing with the pumped or third-party condensate.
Sliding bearings have excellent damping properties, which allow them to dampen the resulting shaft vibrations. At design loads, sliding bearings operate with almost no wear.
The upgraded pump's reliability has massively increased. This factor enables you to recoup the cost of the upgrade in 3-4 years.
